Simple Noodle Art is an artist duo formed in 2019 by Zi-Yin Chen and Hsiang-Feng Chuang, whose respective backgrounds are in art and information technology. Working across installation, moving image, algorithms, internet art, photography, and interactive systems, their practice explores how information technologies and artificial intelligence shape human perception, decision-making, behavior, and everyday experience.

Their works often begin with the underlying mechanisms of algorithms, data processing, and computational systems. Rather than treating technology merely as a tool, they examine its internal logic, structures, and limitations, and translate these often invisible or abstract processes into perceptual, spatial, and participatory experiences. Their ongoing interests include artificial intelligence, recommendation systems, machine perception, generative models, internet culture, astronomy, and the social and emotional transformations brought about by technological development.

Their collaborative process is also shaped by the continuous exchange between their different disciplines. Hsiang-Feng often approaches a subject through its technical and computational logic, while Zi-Yin extends these discussions through observation, imagination, and connections to aesthetics, art history, and social contexts. Through this process of explanation, learning, and translation, Simple Noodle Art seeks to create works that retain technical specificity while remaining open to poetic and speculative interpretations.

The collective takes its name from a simple Taiwanese noodle dish, reflecting their approach of using seemingly ordinary materials and technologies to construct layered experiences and meanings.

Simple Noodle Art is the recipient of the Prix Ars Electronica Honorable Mention (2023), and their works have been exhibited at venues including Ars Electronica Festival, LEV Festival, Ludwig Museum, Taipei Fine Arts Museum , Jut Art Museum, National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts, Taiwan Contemporary Culture Lab, Museum of Contemporary Art Taipei, and LIN&LIN Gallery.


陽春麵研究舍是由陳姿尹與莊向峰於2019年組成的藝術雙人組，兩人分別具有藝術與資訊科技背景。創作媒材橫跨裝置、錄像、演算法、網路藝術、攝影與互動系統，長期關注資訊科技與人工智慧如何形塑人的感知、判斷、行為與日常經驗。

其創作經常從演算法、資料處理與運算系統的底層機制出發。相較於僅將科技視為創作工具，他們更關注技術內部的邏輯、結構與限制，並試圖將這些原本不可見或高度抽象的運作過程，轉化為可被感知、觀看、進入與參與的藝術經驗。持續關注的議題包括人工智慧、推薦系統、機器感知、生成模型、網路文化、天文學，以及科技發展所帶來的社會與情感變化。

兩人的合作方式也建立在不同專業背景之間持續的交換之上。莊向峰經常從技術與運算邏輯切入問題，陳姿尹則透過觀察、想像，以及與美學、藝術史和社會脈絡的連結，延伸對議題的理解。在不斷「解釋」、「學習」與轉譯的過程中，陽春麵研究舍試圖讓作品同時保有技術上的具體性，以及詩性與思辨性的開放空間。

團體名稱取自台灣常見的「陽春麵」，也呼應其創作方式：從看似簡單、日常的材料與技術出發，逐步構成具有多重層次的感知經驗與意義。

曾獲林茲電子藝術獎評審團榮譽獎(2023)，過去的作品曾展出於林茲電子藝術節、L.E.V. 數位藝術節、路德維希當代藝術館、 臺北市立美術館、 忠泰美術館、國立台灣美術館、臺灣當代文化實驗場、台北當代藝術館 、大未來林舍畫廊等機構。
